A dozen iOS apps to keep you active and busy at home during the Lockdown
We are living in difficult times thanks to the novel coronavirus that led to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the moment, the best way to fight this virus is to prevent infection. Most countries recommend staying home. We already have restrictions in many parts of the world and other states are following suit. If the majority of the population stays at home for the next few weeks, we have a good chance of winning the battle against the "invisible enemy." However, do not despair! Download your favorite patches by checking with clean up and enjoy your time at home.
iPhone and iPad apps to fight COVID-19 lockdown:
0. Google Podcasts (Free) – This app just hit the App Store shelves and is not available during the coronavirus lockdown. It should not be done. It helps you stay immersed, entertained, informed, and educated while sleeping at home or jogging in the garden. The download is completely free and there are no in-app purchases.
1. Khan Academy (Free) - Kids feel at home too. One of the best things you can do is encourage them to keep learning. If you have young children, this app allows them to start with early principles. You can also choose a specific grade level for older children. You can also study for the AP (Advanced Placement) exam.
2. Epic! - Children's Books & Videos (Free*) - Another popular learning app. Used in 90% of US elementary schools. This app is her award-winning digital library of e-books and videos for children under 12. Get instant access to over 35,000 books (audio and e-books), videos, and quizzes.
3. Hide! Play & Make Quizzes (Free*) - Adult app for quizzes. Are you a trivia junkie, an office superhero and a constant learner, or a competitive college student? Create and take your own quizzes. Play alone or with friends and family. Have fun and learn at the same time!
4. Houseparty - Life On Air, Inc (FREE*) - This is a great offline social distancing app. Connect friends and family online by making group video calls between iOS and Android users easy and seamless. You can share your screen with up to 8 participants. In addition to group chats, you can also play silly games with everyone!
5. Marco Polo - Stay Connected (Free*) - Another great app that makes social distancing offline easy. Combine text messaging, video chat, and social media to great advantage. No ads or unnecessary distractions like hearts and thumbs.
6. FaceTime (Free) - Of course, FaceTime cannot be removed from the list. It's completely free for all iOS, iPad, and macOS users. You can use it to join video or audio calls between iPhone, iPad, and Mac owners. Only apple id or phone number is required. Group FaceTime calls support up to 32 people at once.
