Personal Statement

Marlene Zaedyan is a writer of Armenian heritage who was born in Lebanon. Her family's history is marked by forced migration after the Armenian Genocide. Her book, Nine Lives Endless Dreams: A Survivor's Story of Genocide and War, is around the themes of resilience and survival, which she formed a profound and sensitive perspective on while growing up during the Lebanese Civil War.

In addition to her writing, Marlene is a proud grandma of two, a loving mother of two sons with special needs, and a daughter. She lives with her cherished puppy, Mango, and is married.
