Protospiel South 2011 is a loosely organized play test convention. Just bring your prototype (or not) and a willingness to play and offer feedback on other games. Play a few games, grab a table when one opens up and play your game, play a few more games, and so on. No panels, lectures, or presentations.

Friday, May 27:

Casual meet 'n greet dinner. Assemble in the lobby of The Best Western Atrium North at 6:00. Leave for Rudy's at 11570 Research Blvd. Austin, TX 78759 at 7:00. Feel free to just meet us at Rudy's.

The idea is that we'll hang out, and talk about game design and such until we get tired and go home (or go back to the hotel and break out into impromptu playtest groups).

Saturday, May 28:

9 AM: Registration and convention room opens. Table for pre-registration badge, at-the-door membership purchases, and program pick up opens.

9:15: Breakfast! Fresh, hot breakfast tacos, orange juice, and hot coffee.

12 Noon: Lunch! (Sammiches!)

6 PM: Dinner! (Probably pizza...)

9:30 PM: 30-minute warning. Start to wrap things up.

10 PM: Door to the convention room closed and locked ‘till 9 AM tomorrow.

Sunday, May 29:

8 AM: Convention room re-opens.

9:15: Breakfast! Fresh, hot breakfast tacos, orange juice, and hot coffee.

12 Noon: Lunch! (Sammiches!).

~5 PM: Dinner! Pizza courtesy of Wonko's Toys and Games

~5:10: Retailer Insights: Is your game right for the current retail market? What's hot in the stores right now? What can you do to make your game more appealing for retailers to stock? Eric Dow, the owner/manager of Wonko's, will lead a Q&A session, speaking from a retailer's point of view.

9:30 PM: 30-minute warning. Prototyping table give-away! (Free stuff!)

10 PM: Door to the convention room closed and locked ‘till Memorial Day weekend of 2012.

10:15 PM: Convention organizers begin to break down room setup.

10:30 PM: Break down complete.
